Two of my favorite looks from the 2010 awards season came from the Givenchy Couture Spring 11 collection that i posted about a while ago (see below). Thank god for Cate and Florence, otherwise everyone played it pretty safe aka boring..

Givenchy Couture spring 2011
riccardo tisci'a latest collection was my favorite of the couture shows; its origami dresses with the anime-style pops of color is fresh and the fabrics - white sheer & feathers - are on point with the season's biggest trends. can't wait to see what he turns out for f/w 2011

gruau et galliano
at yesterday's Dior Haute Couture show in Paris, Galliano was influenced by the iconic fashion illustrator Rene Gruau(who often worked with Dior). The overlays of tulle created the illusion that the dress had been carefully erased and the sweeping pastel gowns looked to have come alive from one of gruau's watercolors.
